What To Expect

Your pet’s annual vet check-up will include a complete physical exam with a thorough examination of your pet from head to toe. For example, even the most cooperative pet may not be enthusiastic about getting their teeth brushed at home, so an annual dental by your veterinarian may be necessary. Like you, your pet can lose his teeth due to decay and neglect. It’s a good idea to keep an accurate medical journal not only of the procedures, treatments and vaccinations your pet receives at the vet, but to also keep tabs on things like your pet’s elimination habits, any physical changes or any unusual occurrences. It is also essential to also keep track of small shifts in your pet’s behavior or routine. Some examples of this would include urinary marking habits and mood swings, along with any changes you make to their diet or routine. You can then take your pet’s medical journal and notes when you visit your veterinarian. These seemingly unrelated occurrences will assist in giving an extra thorough history to your vet and may help explain the results of your pet’s medical tests. In addition, if you need to change vets, it’s good to have this journal to provide a complete medical history.

When choosing a veterinarian we know it is essential that you find someone who is empathetic, compassionate and thorough. We also know how important it is that you have a veterinarian that is willing to discuss your pet’s condition, willing to answer questions and discuss treatment plans, as well as a veterinarian that will explain all the procedures your pet undergoes. Our staff is committed to ensuring you and your pet are comfortable at every visit.
